The Seesters 21st Birthday!

Ok, So as most of you may know my younger Sister Madeline (Maddie, Scruff....or as I call her Seester) turned 21 last Friday, December 5, 2008. If you have never had the privilege of meeting her, after doing so you would realize that we are the most opposite human beings to walk the face of the earth. Unlike myself she is very focused and determined. She takes her life very serious and definately does not enjoy in any sort of alcohol consumption of any kind. We offered to take her to Vegas for her big birthday celebration but she quickly declined! It finally came out that she thought we would embarass her and she didn't want to hang out with a bunch of "drunk people" as she so politely put it! So we opted for a quiet (well however quiet you can be at Wabi Sabi) dinner with presents and dessert to follow at the parental units home. Saturday we had a great party for her given by the parental units at the home of our friends the Gerritse's. My brother brought his DJ equipment, the taco man catered it, chocolate fountains were flowing and the best part in my opinion....the bungee run and boxing ring (both inflatable of course!) It was really a great evening. We sang Happy Birthday and did our usual Sisterly cake fight. I can't believe she is 21! Here is to you Seester! I couldn't be more proud of you! I love you!

Kole is our first born! (well at least a whole 2 minutes before his sister!) Kole was born 5 1/2 weeks early and had a little bit of a rough start. He was in the NICU for a couple days after birth (his lungs weren't quite ready for the world) and after coming home he developed RSV at 2 weeks old and was taken back to the hospital for a 5 day stay. Boy oh boy you would never know it now! He will be 3 on March 5th and is a big strong boy. He loves firetrucks and helicopters. He isn't big on change and likes his things just so! If you ask him who his best friend is he will reply "My Daddy"! His favorite time of day is about 5pm as that is when he stands at the door and waits for "His Daddy" to come home. He loves to ride on the quads, "vrooms" as he calls them and loves to help Wade or my brother fix anything. It takes him a little while to warm up but once he does watch out....you will have a sidekick with you the rest of the day!

Our precious little girl! Kady is our only little girl (and if you have met her you understand why I say it like that!) She was definately meant to be the only little girl in this family. She has her daddy wrapped up tight around her finger and that is exactly where he is happy to be! She is very outgoing. Loves to ask people questions who they are where they are going, if they want to come over and play! She is the leader of the pack. She was potty trained before she was two, has had her own room and a big girl bed for the last few months and loves having her own space. She is definately a tomboy at heart! Although she loves wearing dresses and bows, carrying purses and wearing high heeled shoes...she is the one that I find in the backyard digging in the dirt for dinasaur bones, trying to catch lizards and watching the bugs crawl! She is amazing!

Our newest addition Maxx Rene'! Maxx decided that he was going to join our family a bit early! After going into labor at 35 weeks (5 weeks early if you are unfamiliar with pregnancy terms!) the Dr.'s were unsuccessful at stopping it so after monitoring me in the hospital for 12 hours they decided to do a repeat c-section. (It was the plan from the beginning just not that early). Well, delivery was fine but the little guy was definately not ready to be here. He had an initial cry but soon encountered problems breathing. He was immediately taken to the NICU and was intubated and was given a PICC line on IV's and everything. However....after the LONGEST 11 days I have every experienced in my life Maxx came home to join our chaotic family. It is just wonderful having him here!
